The Dark Truth About YouTube Rewind 2018
Here's why this year's YouTube Rewind was the most controversial ever! Subscribe for more amazing videos! ► http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Richest ◄ YouTube’s Rewind videos allow us to look back on the year’s biggest moments. But the platform’s 2018 video left a lot to be desired. Not only was it lacking big YouTube stars, the video failed to mention many of the company’s biggest, newsmaking moments. Sure, we got footage focusing on Fortnite and we saw glimpses of one of Hollywood’s most famous stars. Yet, what about the normal, everyday people who regularly post content on their YouTube channels to thousands, maybe even millions, of fans? While it’s nice to see Will Smith involved in this year's Rewind, where were the trendsetters who made names for themselves on YouTube alone? Also, the 2018 Rewind video went out of its way to avoid controversy. By failing to mention the year’s most infamous moments, the irate commenters drudged up the past to remind everyone what this latest Rewind video was missing. Why weren’t PewDiePie and T-Series mentioned? What about the Paul brothers—with Shane Dawson’s videos about Jake Paul and Logan Paul’s contentious video in Japan’s suicide forest. These people had a big part to play in YouTube’s buzz and their divisive antics are as much a part of the site as the more positive developments from this year. We mean, geez, the Pauls fought in boxing matches for extra views. Sure, everyone loves Fortnite, but the game’s success and its recap videos posted throughout YouTube cannot undo all the insane events and negative press that YouTube’s garnered. While we can understand why the company wouldn’t want to include any infamous references in their recap video, they could at least throw the fans and followers a bone. If they want to start getting more thumbs up than thumbs down, YouTube can try being a bit more honest in next year's Rewind. Check out these other awesome videos from TheRichest!
