Relaxing on a beach and feeling the waves whip a refreshing breeze onto our sun-kissed faces sounds like a heavenly proposition—of course, one that is made more heavenly with a cocktail or two. However, if you really think about it, how many islands fit this description of paradise? Not many. In fact, the percentage is miniscule. There could be as many as two million islands in the world, hundreds of thousands of which are uninhabited, and just as many that are inhospitable to folks like us. This leaves only a tiny cluster of islands with the conditions we previously described. And even these can be ravaged by volcanoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis. People like islands that are most like civilization, otherwise being on an island is just being cut-off from the rest of the world. And who wants that? Without sand, warm weather, and conga lines, islands are frightening places—as you will plainly see in this video.
