The ocean encompasses all of humanity’s most primal fears. It’s gigantic, dark, mysterious, and is capable of ending your life in a million different ways. Oh, and it’s filled with creepy creatures. Though we know all about the cute, friendly animals, it’s the deep-sea creatures that inspire fear in the hearts of many. The deeper one goes, the creepier the animals get. But all deep-sea animals are weird-looking because they have to be. To survive in such a harsh and inhospitable location, animals have adapted in strange ways to combat the extreme cold, total darkness, atmospheric pressure, and other predators. This molds normal animals into alien-like creatures. The creepiest fact of all is that most of the following creatures have only recently been discovered. If these guys have evaded capture for so long, we wonder what else is lurking down below.
