Little Shiloh Pepin defied all of the odds when she survived for a decade with mermaid syndrome, meaning that her legs were fused together. Although her life was short, it was a happy one, and she was one of only three children to have ever lived for an extended time period with that condition. One little boy with ichthyosis struggled to afford proper medical care, and each day that went by meant his skin continued to harden, making it impossible for him to move and eventually turning him into a stone statue. Having a conjoined twin is one thing, but some children end up with a parasitic twin that they must have removed if they want any chance of a normal life. A man with Treacher Collin syndrome has made it his mission to meet children who share his same rare condition. He hopes to show them that they are not alone, and inspire them to do more in life than they ever thought possible.
